He is the author of numerous books, including the National Book Award-winning Silence in the Snowy Fields and the iconic (and best-selling) Iron John. Robert Hedin is the author, translator, and editor of twenty volumes of poetry and prose, including The Old Liberators: New and Selected Poems and Translations. He is co-founder and current director of the Anderson Center, an artist retreat in Red Wing, Minnesota.
